CFG @ Copenhagen Democracy Summit

Royal Danish Playhouse, Copenhagen

CFG is partnering with the Copenhagen Democracy Summit to co-host a day of programming on technology and democracy—spotlighting risks, opportunities, and democratic strategies for steering emerging tech in the right direction.

More information

We’re excited to share that CFG is a summit partner at this year’s Copenhagen Democracy Summit, where we’ll be co-hosting Day 2 of the event with a spotlight on technology and democracy.

With global power dynamics shifting and emerging technologies advancing at record speed, it’s never been more important to examine the relationship between tech and democracy. What risks are we facing? What new opportunities could we unlock? And how can democratic systems help steer emerging tech development in the right direction (and vice versa)?

These are the kinds of questions our teams at CFG are working on every day—and they’ll be at the heart of our contribution to the Summit.

Founded by former NATO Secretary General and Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the Copenhagen Democracy Summit is a major platform for leaders working to strengthen democracy worldwide. Past speakers have included Ursula von der Leyen, Mette Frederiksen, Audrey Tang, and Masih Alinejad. This year’s line-up features high-level voices like Croatian PM Andrej Plenković, European Commissioner Michael McGrath, and Danish Deputy PM Troels Lund Poulsen—alongside our very own Velislava Petrova and Virginia Mahieu, who will be speaking on Day 2, shaping the conversation around tech and democratic resilience.

We’re also bringing some of our work to life in the Tech Impact Corner, where our Advanced AI, Climate Interventions, and Neurotechnology teams will share insights and demos related to emerging tech and democracy.

To wrap up, CFG will host an invite-only lunch workshop for experts working across policy, research, and industry to explore how democratic values can guide tech development in this fast-changing world —and what kinds of technological governance and innovation we need to protect those values in the years ahead.

And if you’re in Copenhagen, keep an eye out for our special Tech & Tonic session on 13 May—more on that soon.
