David focuses on institutional designs for the strategic development of AI in Europe, disentangling AI hype from reality, mapping expert debates on risks, and advancing the case for a science of safe AI.
Before joining CFG, he founded and led Effective Thesis, an international non-profit organisation dedicated to help students build high-impact research careers by aligning their academic pursuits with pressing global challenges.
He also worked in the development and analysis team at the Czech Science Foundation, where he evaluated the impact of research funding programs, designed new initiatives, and developed internal evaluation mechanisms.
David has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Masaryk University, MSc in Organizational Psychology from the University of Leeds and started a PhD in Sociology of Science at Charles University in Prague, where he focused on quantitatively measuring the development of research independence and cognitive exploration.
