Britte De Herdt
Finance Director
Britte joined CFG as Finance Director. A Business Engineer by training, she manages day-to-day finances while driving long-term strategy, bridging the gap between financial rigor and mission-driven impact.
Britte serves as Finance Director at the Centre for Future Generations (CFG), where she leads the organization’s financial operations. Based in Brussels, she is responsible for the full spectrum of the finance function—from overseeing day-to-day financial management to designing the long-term financial frameworks and reporting that allow CFG to scale its impact.
Britte’s career is defined by a unique blend of corporate excellence and purpose-led leadership. Before joining CFG, she was Finance Director at the European Climate Foundation, where she established the business control function. Previously, she spent over five years at Johnson & Johnson, holding various international roles in Treasury, Financial Shared Services, FP&A, and Financial Transformation. This background allows her to bring rigorous corporate financial standards to the world of mission-driven organisations.
She holds a degree in Business Engineering from the University of Antwerp, a foundation that fuels her interest in applied sciences and finance. As a leader, Britte is a strong advocate for resilience; she integrates her passion for wellbeing and her background as a Pilates instructor to foster balanced, high-performing teams.
Britte lives in Antwerp with her husband, Lucas, and their two children, Arthur and Cécile.
