Alina explores how advances in synthetic biology and AI can be assessed and communicated, creating clear insights that support responsible policymaking.

Alina is a Biotechnology Officer at CFG. She is interested in bringing to life the capabilities, risks, and governance challenges of emerging biotech and AI by developing tools that track fast-moving innovations, benchmark their applications, and visualise their biosecurity and policy implications. She also contributes to policy briefs, foresight activities, and stakeholder engagement on responsible governance of synthetic biology and AI.

She holds a Master’s in Cellular and Genetic Engineering and has pursued projects in bioinformatics, omics data analysis, and AI for health. Beyond her academic training, Alina is active at international hackathons, where she develops AI and biotech solutions at the interface of science, technology, and policy.
