Funding principles
Our seed funding came from two philanthropic foundations and we are now growing and diversifying our funding model to include donations and grants from foundations, research agencies and public institutions. We do not accept primary funding from governments or corporations, nor do we accept funding from political parties or groups who exist to further party political interests.
We are committed to engaging with a wide range of representatives across the political spectrum, with the exception of those who express positions that encourage misogyny, discrimination, infringement of human rights, or other forms of extreme behavior.
Our supporters
CFG is currently supported by a diverse group of organisations and individuals. Our seed funding came from the Dreamery Foundation and Tanka Foundation. This funding covers baseline costs for our first five years. We also receive general operating support from the Powoki Foundation.
Programme-specific support is provided by the following organisations:
- The Silicon Valley Community Foundation
- The AI Safety Tactical Opportunities Fund (Transatlantic)
- Funding from DAFgiving360 made possible by the generosity of The LAD Climate Fund
- The Long Term for Planet and People foundation
- ARIA | Advanced Research + Invention Agency
- Giving What We Can USA Inc.
We express our sincere gratitude to the philanthropic institutions and individuals who support our work. Further information is available in our annual financial report.
