Nicoleta Prutean
Senior Governance Analyst
Nicoleta draws on her expertise in brain science and psychology to shape policies that safeguard mental health in the age of fast-moving, transformative technologies.
At CFG, Nicoleta leads Tech and the Brain, an initiative of the Neurotechnology programme. Her mission is to ensure that evidence on how emerging technologies affect mental health translates into policies that both protect and empower future generations.
Before joining CFG, she was a PhD researcher at Ghent University (Belgium), and a visiting researcher at Mind, Brain and Behaviour Research Center (Spain) and Brown University (US). Her academic work used neurotechnologies to investigate how people focus attention, make decisions, break habits, and mobilise the effort and motivation needed for change.
Nicoleta holds a BSc in Psychology (University of Torino), a MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience (University of Padova) and a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience (Ghent University).
